A member asked:

Is it okay for me to use a deviated septum as an excuse to get a nose job?

Nose job: If you can justify it as a structural issue then the nose job will be covered. Most insurances require pictures to justify the procedure. Work with your ENT and he or she can work to get it approved. If it is not approved, you can always pay the difference from what is covered. This ends up being only a couple of thousand dollars which is relatively cheap. Good luck.

Sure: You can get a deviated septum repair and rhinoplasty at the same time. You will still have to pay for the cosmetic portion though.

Rhinoplasty: While septoplasty is performed in the context of rhinoplasty quite often, it is hardly an excuse to get a rhinoplasty. The two procedures are different.
