Technically...: ...Fixing a deviated septum is called a "septoplasty". It can help with breathing, and can also help straighten a crooked nose. That's somewhat different than a "rhinoplasty", when the bones and cartilages of the nose are re-shaped to give a different external appearance. Sometimes, both are done together.

Not a nose job: Septoplasty straightens the wall between the nostrils and opens the airway, but does not change the shape of the nose. A "nose job" or rhinoplasty, is when the shape of the nose is changed.

Yes: Septal surgery is straightening the inside of the nose. Changing the outside of the nose is called rhinoplasty. The procedures can be done together.

Septoplasty: Correcting a deviated septum can be part of a rhinoplasty but not every septoplasty is considered a Nose job.

External appearance: The septum is predominantly an internal structure. Deviation can occur without affecting the external appearance. Repair may similarly produce no change in appearance. However deviated septums commonly occur with deviation of the nasal bridge. When fixing the deviated septum, this may produce an improvement in the external appearance (nose job). However this will not treat a large nasal tip
