Yes: Make sure you are being treated by a board certified thoracic surgeon. If this is malignant, treatment planning should include a medical oncologist and radiation oncologist, as many require multi modality therapy. The thoracic surgeon may need the assistance of a reconstructive plastic surgeon to close the defect created when the tumor is excised. Also, the margin of resection is important.
