Yes: There is a fairly wide variation in fetal size as the pregnancy progresses that reflects the fact that some normal babies will weigh 6 lbs. At birth and others 9 lbs. The thing we look for is appropriate growth of the fetus on its' curve.

Yes: There is variation in these dates estimates, and remember that they are only estimates. Also, the earlier estimates are usually the most accurate, with accuracy decreasing as the fetus gets older.
