A member asked:

Cont. q1 swimmers ear. oral antibiotic. why is my ear getting worse? is my ent doc a quack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Swimmers Ear: Usually this can be managed topically with vinegar in water half and half instilled into the external ear. Sometimes an antibiotic solution for the ear is used and sometimes an oral antibiotic is employed. These conditions can be quite painful and uncomfortable. Your ENT doctor is very competent, but if you do not trust your doctor, go get a second opinion.
