See an ENT: If the ear hasn't been cleaned of debris it should be. He may need an "ear wick"- a sponge that sits in the ear canal to keep the drops working longer. Also he should be checked to make sure there isn't a yeast infection in the ear from long-term antibiotic drops. Finally make sure you're keeping the ear dry until he's fully healed.
