Swelling and severe pain at iv site with limited mobility (located on top of left wrist). swelling is hard and cool. what can i do to relieve this?

Warm compresses: Sounds like you have IV site related superficial thrombophlebitis . This usuall y responds well to warm compresses , elevation, and time. These superficial vein IV lesions are generally not serious and may take a week or two to go away. If it doesn't or are u are concerned about size , etc see your primary care physician. NSAIDs,rest,elevate: Iv site inflammation can be best treated by rest, elevation and nsaids. If concerned re: infection then topical or PO antibiotics can be used. See your pcp.
