Try a PPI...: Ppi stand for "proton pump inhibitor." you can purchase Prilosec and Prevacid (lansoprazole) over-the-counter without a prescription. Take one pill every morning on an empty stomach 30 minutes prior to your first meal every day for two weeks. If your symptoms do not improve, you should see a doctor.
