A 34-year-old member asked:

is it possible for you to eat a whole pumpkin seed without it hurting you?

Kind of pumpkin?: There are hundreds of "pumpkins" out there. Most are edible. If this is an edible type of pumpkin then you will be fine. Roasted pumpkin seeds, pepitas, are delicious and a good source of protein without cholesterol! The shell around them won't hurt you, and actually has fiber in it. Enjoy! Too much of any food can be bad, of course.

No: Probably not. The fat content of your milk won't depend very much on your fat intake, as long as your overall nutrition is good. And very, very few people in the developed world need the additional calories of whole versus lo-fat milk.

Does taking pumpkin seed really work against parasites?

Pumpkin seeds: It is my understanding, that pumpkin seeds may help get rid of parasites. One needs to consume a lot however, and according to what I have read, that means 200-400 grams of pumpkin seeds (one half to one whole pound!). So, you could grind them up and make like a thick soup and drink it. If it were me, i would go to the dr. And take an anti-parasitic medication. Good luck.

Pumpkin seeds: Are high in calories, fiber, minerals, vitamins & anti oxidants. Their oleic acid content (a mono unsaturated fatty acid) helps lower the bad LDL & elevate the good HDL cholesterol.
