Severity: Depends on severity of problem. If dental malrelationship, may be fixable w braces. If skeletal malrelationship, may require b races and jaw surgery. See a qualified orthodontic specialist. Initial exam often free or low cost. Orthodontist can explain what treatments will work best for your particular problem.

Braces/Underbite: First and foremost, it all depends on the cause of the underbite. It is purely dental? Is it purely skeletal? Is it a combination? It is always best to get an opinion from an orthodontic specialist. He/she can give the most accurate information.
