A member asked:

Can a person with hepatitis b take alcohol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It really depends: If you have significant and active hepatitis b then alcohol consumption, especially in large amount, can cause much trouble. If your status is just a carrier/not active, then small amount (one drink) here and there is likely to be ok. Alcohol and hepatitisc don't mix well. I would recommend finding out your status with your doc and arrange for regular follow-up. Good luck.
