The tongue is a: Powerhouse of healing, with a great (cleansing) blood supply. You shouldn't have any problems. If concerned, you can rinse mouth 2-3 times daily with a mix of 1 part hydrogen peroxide w 3-4 parts water-swish it ; spit. And can be hard to avoid rubbing tongue on teeth/cheeks, but try not to. If not better in a couple of days, check w dentist or doc.

Sadly : This is a reality when you have practiced long enough. Typically there is no permanent damage, rather temporary discomfort as the tongue is always moving and irritates the damaged area. Just make sure you are rinsing frequently -- i'm assuming your dentist gave you rinsing recommendations -- and you should be fine in a couple of days. If the problems persists however, make sure you go back to y.
