Should i have my full mouth dental series xrays done first at a new office before having a periodontal cleaning done at another new office?

Call the new office: Each dentist may have a different set of criteria as to the number of x-rays required as well as how recently they were taken prior to any dental treatment. I would suggest that you call the office where you plan on being treated and discuss this issue directly with them. The two offices can usually work out a transfer of past x-rays from one office to the other one.

Sure I Would: I am assuming that you require a periodontist for a more intensive srp. Iif the radiographs are digital then they can be easily transferred from one practice. Your general dental office will also utilize these films for diagnosing caries, failed restorations, tooth abscesses, etc. & you may have something that might need attention prior to srp.
