A member asked:

Does being induced increase risk of c-section?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not if done properly: And for the right reason. Many of my pts want to be induced. Induction can lower the c-section rate by delivering the baby before it is too large for you, or before the placenta gets too old or the umbilical cord gets too tight or if the baby had a meconium bowel movement., before it becomes too thick. I have never had a pt that regretted being induced. Recent study showed 39-40 wks ideal time.
