A member asked:

If a baby is too big will the doctors induce or give c sections?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

C/sections: Cesarean delivery to avoid potential birth trauma is usually limited to an estimated fetal weight of at least 5,000 g (11 pounds) in women without diabetes and at least 4,500 g (9.9 pounds) in women with diabetes. Short of this, most docs usually recommend a trial of labor to see if the cervix dilates. Early induction if the baby is getting big isn't usually recommended. Best wishes!
