A member asked:

I've been on my period for a month now. i've seen my doc but it's getting worse. heavy bleeding aches and cramps. should i go to the er to get checke?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ER for periods : No, the ER has no idea what to do about heavy periods. If it's worse, your doctor needs to know. If your doctor is not gynecologist, then go see a gynecologist, so they can maybe do an ultrasound in the office. Heavy periods are rarely caused by anything serious, but can cause anemia.
