Yes: Sometimes a very small fracture won't be evident on x-ray until 7-10 days after it happens. If your concerned get back in for recheck and another film.

Hand injury: Small fractures may not show up on xyrays for ten days or so. If not improved soon recheck with your doctor.

I just hit my hand on something hard and immediately my thumb at the joint became slightly swollen and bruised. It's not hurting unless I mash on it. It is a little numb at the joint, but not bad. Is this most likely a sprain, fracture, or break?
