A member asked:

Diflucan (fluconazole) treatment for chronic yeast infections, : one pill, wait 3 days, another pill, wait a week, take one pill a week for 6 months. how effective ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yeast infection: This depends upon what you mean by "chronic" yeast infection. If this is multiple recurrences, you might try treating this with Fluconazole through one menstrual period to eliminate any endometrial contamination from reseediing the vagina, and also have your sexual partner use an antifungal cream or ointment on his penis while you are being treated.
