A member asked:

I have a vp shunt can you hear fluid coming through the tube i've been hearing this gurgling noise sounds like it goes down the shunt side?

Not likely: The flow of fluid through the small tube is not enough to produce turbulent flow, which would produce noise. If the reservoir in the shunt valve is depressed, and that reproduces the noise, you may have some air in the reservoir. That is benign. Check with your surgeon if the sound persists.

Get checked: . Air in line from implant or leak can do that.
