A member asked:

If a biopsy is taken during a colonoscopy will your doctor tell you? and will he tell you what the results were?

Yes: If your doctor takes a biopsy in the course of your colonoscopy, then he/she will definitely tell you that they did so. They should have those pathology results back to you within 6-7 days. If you're worried, just call your doctor.

After/it depends,,,: The results of the colonoscopy are usually discussed after it's done, including biopsies, etc.. Depending on how anesthetized you may be, the one doing it might say it's being taken, but even at that point, it's usually understood before that biopsies might be taken if there's a polyp, etc. And what was done should certainly be discussed afterward along with the results. Best of luck.
