A member asked:

When polyps are found during colonoscopy that are 2-3 cm in size why would a doctor leave them instead of taking a biopsy?

Colonoscopy: Biopsies are usually only taken of any polyps that dont look normal. Polyps of that tiny size are unlikely to be a problem and to a trained eye, the risk of taking the biopsy probably higher than the risk of possible malignancy! I am sure you were told to have a follow up colonoscopy in 6 mos to 1 year.
