Risks ;complications: All risks and complications of any proposed surgery, including hysterectomy, should be discussed by the md and you prior to surgery. This is called informed consent for which you sign a document prior to surgery. If you don't understand anything at all about the surgery, you should stop the md and ask if he/she is not forthcoming with the information.
