A member asked:

What symptoms would one have if he had early hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Highly variable: Might look like infectious mononucleosis, acute flu-like syndrome, encephalitis, or a wide variety of other presentations. My advice would be that if you suspect you may have been exposed to HIV in whatever fashion, that you be tested whether or not you have any symptoms, since early initiation of treatment is the key to success.
