Yes, with acute HIV: Usually, the symptoms of acute HIV may occur within 2 to 4 weeks of infection and may last a week. Many individuals develop a flu-like illness called acute HIV infection with the most common symptoms being fever, enlarged lymph nodes, sore throat, rash, muscle aches, malaise, mouth and esophageal sores, and may also include, but less commonly, headache, nausea and vomiting, weight loss.
