Bump on gum: This may be either a gum abcess or a tooth abcess. This can be diagnosed by your dentist with an examination and an x-ray. Another possibility is an aphthous ulcer (canker sore). Again, see your dentist for a definitive diagnosis.

See a dentist: It's hard to give a definitive diagnosis without seeing it, touching it and having a radiograph (x-ray). Call a dentist to get it evaluated.
