A member asked:

If you have swollen lymph nodes (anywhere), would that mean that there is some sort of infection, which may cause a higher white blood cell count?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Enlarged node: Lymph nodes often enlarge during an infection. As lymphocytes proliferate the lymph node expands. There is pain as the capsule stretches. The white blood cell count is often elevated during an infection.
