Do not: All meds should be stopped only after asking the prescribing dr, who will tell you how. Do not stop on your own, mainly this drugs. However it is very good news that you are aware of the risks of stopping but also of continuing a very dependency provoking drug like xanax (alprazolam). Your dr knows how to taper down and stop xanax (alprazolam) in your particular case, it may be different for you. Best wishes.
