Risk of seizure/convulsion in between xanax (alprazolam) doses (.25mg) 4 times a day? wears off fast and sxs start quickly

Short acting med: Xanax (alprazolam) is a medication in benzodiazepam family and can be used to treat seizures. It's not as good at preventing seizures for several reasons. (1) it's duration of action is short (2) withdrawal symptoms from daily, regular use of benzo's can cause symptoms similar to seizures (3) it has a high risk of dependency. Discuss this issue with your prescribinb physician.

Not likely: You are not likely to have a seizure. There is an extended form of Xanax (alprazolam) which should give you a smoother response and less doses. Talk to your prescriber.
