Unknown: There is no way of answering this question. As blood sugars remain uncontrolled, the risks of complications such as blindness, kidney failure, infections, amputations, cardiovascular events goes higher and higher. Its like wearing a time bomb but not knowing when it will explode. However, once complications develop there is no going back, hence, treat it now while you can.

Long time...: Although less than non-diabetic patient but more worrisome , not well controlled patient will suffer so get control of yourself and disease.

Cannot be answered: God only knows the answer to that question. This is so dependent upon so many things. Most people would not even need medication who have type 2 if they would achieve normal weight, exercise properly, and eat a balanced diet without overeating. We love life so much, we kill ourselves.
