There are a: number of very good medications to treat type 2 diabetes. What is best for you however may not be for everyone. There are multiple factors to consider such as other medical conditions and medications you are taking, kidney function, tolerance to the medication, potential side effects and cost. The answer to your question is best decided between you and your doctor.

Complex: Hi. There are many categories of medicines approved for type 2 diabetes that work by many independent mechanisms. What is "best" depends on each patient's physiologic characteristics and ability to tolerate the drug in question. In almost all cases, multiple drug categories will have to be used in combination to achieve excellent control. I love to use drugs that cannot cause hypoglycemia.
