I'm on non weight bearing post ankle surgery 2 weeks in is it ok to rest foot on floor or is that weight bearing?

Ok: Apparently you've had an ankle fusion surgery performed ( by your history). Ok in general to rest foot on floor for short periods of time( better to rest w/ foot elevated).If you begin to walk get your crutches !

Preferably not to: The closer you get to doing something you might actually do it. Non weight bearing means non weight bearing, so keep that foot in the air. Unless, your doc gives you the okay to do otherwise.

Usually... YES: Non weight bearing means that you are not to put your body weight onto the foot. Usually resting means that the foot is simply placed upon the floor without any pressure from the body pressing down upon it. Usually the portion of the foot which did not undergo surgery can be rested upon the floor or up on a pillow without problems. If in doubt, always check with your surgeon. Be well !
