Has anyone heard or experienced thyroid cancer from direct nuclear exposure in or around, naval nuclear defense base?

Interesting question: Well given the nuclear activities of the navy are very controlled and emit essentially zero outside of the containment area ... so for example people on nuclear ships/subs that work there and not entering nuclear spaces ... they have no exposure so hence you would not get thyroid cancer if you just live near a nuclear base.. impossible because there is no exposure.
