Asthma?: A cough may be due to your allergic rhinitis because of post nasal drip, but could also be due to asthma which is frequently a complication of allergy. Even if you have allergic rhinitis, your cough could be due to other causes like acid reflux, even if you do not have heartburn. Best to see you doctor or a board certified allergist.

Nasal sprays...: There are prescription nasal sprays that are very effective for this scenario. You should see your doctor for evaluation so this treatment can be prescribed. Other etiologies for a persistent non-productive cough include gerd and bronchospasm. Sometimes a combination of these diagnoses are present so your doctor should evaluate you.
