My son aiden has a cough and runny nose no other symptoms such i take him to his dr. or just continue giving him benadryl (diphenhydramine) for children?

If he is otherwise: healthy and has no fever, difficulty breathing, ear pain and is eating and drinking well, & it's only been a few days, you can probably wait and continue the benadryl (diphenhydramine) (if it's helping). The benadryl (diphenhydramine) won't treat the underlying cause, unless it's an allergy, so if it's not helping, I would not recommend continuing it. If not better in a couple more days, please bring him to see his doctor.

Viral infection: Continue the benadryl (diphenhydramine) and observe him if is not better or get fever take him back to his doctor forre evaluation and treatment.
