Hoarse voice 5yr old: If this is sudden, it could be laryngitis or croup and potentially dangerous. Contact you doctor . If gets a lot worse or trouble breathing go to er.

See his doctor: There could be several reasons for this that range from nothing more then a common cold to strep throat. You need to have him evaluated by his pediatrian to see if this is something that requires medical treatment or just home care and bed rest. Don't put off he doctors visit, f this s strep throat it can be serious.
