Cough meds worthless: Combination cough meds have been studied extensively in the US and found to add nothing to the treatment of cough (under age 6) beyond giving you something to do. Mucolytics like mucinex or Robitussin help some. These kids well if you maintain good hydration & nutrition until the symptoms pass.
