Is the "triangle of death" around the nose area true?

Basically no: The concern is a skin infection here traveling to the cavernous sinus and causing thrombosis. I heard this as a first-year medical student and got all worried about my acne doing this, and got set straight by an annoyed house officer. Acne won't go to the deep structures, and if you have a cellulitis on your face, you're going to get treated anyway.
