Won't cause syndrome: Buproprion and Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) can be taken together. Those drugs are different. You could get a serotonin syndrome from Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) (rare) alone, but taking the two drugs together is not contraindicated. Sometimes we use burproprion to augment other antidepressants.

Nothing is safe: This combination has an increased risk of seizures. If you have any past history of seizures i would be hesitant to prescribe this combo. For all medications you must weigh the benefit versus the risk.
