Constipation.: Stay well hydrated (at least 8 - 8 ounces glasses of water per day). Try to get in 5 servings of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day – get that fiber in. Stay physically active if possible. There are a number of over the counter laxatives that can be taken orally to help pass retained fecal matter.

Water for prevention: To resolve a present situation you might need a gentle stool softener and/or some prunes. In general, add fruits ; veggies to your diet and drink enough water - (8) 8oz glasses per day. Moderate exercise and general activity helps too. Avoid daily laxatives - they cause problems. If this is not effective, see a doctor for possible ibs-c. Good luck.
