Baby tooth: The roots of the baby tooth were probably resorbed, so there was no real socket. The white area is the gum tissue that grew in under the tooth to fill in the area where the roots were.

Socket issue: When a tooth is extracted some times the blood clot is lost and the bare bone is exposed. Since you did not say if the baby tooth was loose--perhaps this has occurred. Fortunately you say you have no pain. Simply keep it clean and the area will heal without any problem. Rinse with warm salt water and prevent any food from becoming lodged in the socket.
