Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride): Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) is an effective antidepressant. It is a combination of an ssri with a Buspar like component. It's actual effect on generalized anxiety however remains unstudied. As an antidepressant however it fares about as well as any of the others. It can cause gastrointestinal upset when it is started. There are starter packets that your doctor can give you. It's not been studied for ocd however so i'm not sure exactly why your doctor would be thinking of using that or perhaps you're just questioning about the drug in general. If the G.I. Symptoms are too severe the dose can be cut in half and taken up twice as slowly as in the starter packet by having your doctor give you two starter packets to work with. I have personally had good success using this medication. However, like all antidepressants, it is not for everyone. Best wishes.

Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride): Results are mixed, but most successes come from gradually increasing the dose to 40mg. daily if tolerated well.
