Yes: Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant like prozac, paxil, celexa, lexapro, and zoloft. The entire class of medications is effective against both depression as well as anxiety. Of note, it takes 2-3 weeks for a partial effect, 4-6 weeks for a full effect, so you may not feel better or even feel worse for 1-2 weeks before the medication kicks in
