A member asked:

I understand that most blood pressure and statin drugs reduce cv risk by about 20-30%. my question is what about the other 70-80%?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Risk: Drugs are usually quoted in decreasing relative risk rather than absolute risk, this makes their effects sound more impressive. To decrease risk significantly requires taking care of multiple risk factors to get their additive benefits. Rarely do we get to high numbers of reducing absolute risk however.
