Not effective: I'm unaware of any data which suggests that calendula is beneficial for crohn's or any other GI disorders. Anyway, you need to direct this question to your physician who is managing your Pentasa (mesalamine) dosage. Chrohn's disease is complex and variable, so don't skip or adjust meds without medical clearance. Good luck.

Medication should be managed by your Doctor. It's a good idea to have a complete physical exam to know if you have a physical illness that is causing problems and how you should approach your eating. If you are not confident in your Doctor see another for a second opinion.
