Hiatal hernia: Both cy scan and endoscopy will show hiatal hernia. The endoscopy upper, will show a widening of the stomach above the lower esophageal sphincter. Describing your problem you note pain worse when standing which doesn't fit. Ask your doctor to look at ct scan for any hernias. He/she can also review previous endoscopy. Hope this helps.

No: The possibility that all 3 of those studies missed a hiatal hernia is about that of winning the lottery. Your problem could be from a functional problem with the esophagus, generally referred to as esophageal motility disorders. These are best diagnosed with high resolution esophageal manometry in a center that does a high volume if these to get the best results.
