In short, yes: I'm not sure you actually mean mania -- but severe anxiety such as found in ptsd and/or ocd can surely interrupt sleep and cause the problems you describe. Seeing a psychiatrist for full evaluation can be a beginning in finding relief. Many people with ptsd are fearful of going to sleep due to nightmares. If you do have bipolar illness, the zoloft (sertraline) can make it worse. Please do see psychiatrist.
