A member asked:

Would it be wise to ask for ultra sound instead of ct scan if i've already had 4 ct scans in my life? i'm having abdominal pain. is ultra still good?

Depends: Depends on what is being looked for. Ct scan looks for more diffuse process, inflammation, or infection. Ultrasound looks more at solid organs for cysts or growths, such as liver, kidney, ovaries, etc. Repeating tests does not indicate that there will be a finding. Ask your doctor why so many repeated tests.
