Specializes in Psychiatry

Talk and medicines: A psychiatrist can talk and use medicines to help with anxiety. It may be that medicines can help but being able to talk can help too. Many psychiatrists use mainly medicines but some can see some patients for individual psychotherapy. You may benefit from seeing both a therapist and a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist will attempt to ask you what it is like to be you! hope this helps! stay safe!

Talk!: You might consider a *psychologist* or psychiatrist who specializes in *psychotherapy, * not just medication. Many psychiatrists (mds) will give you a prescription and little else. In psychotherapy, you will come to know yourself better- you will learn what is behind your anxiety and how to cope with whatever is making you anxious. Most anxiety can be treated with psychotherapy alone.
