I still have foot/ankle pain after injury and 7.5 weeks of wearing boot. both still swell and hurt. mri showed nothing. no pt ordered.

Sympathetic pain: You may have developed sympathetically mediated pain, also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy. I would strongly encourage you to be evaluated for this as it is an often overlooked diagnoses. Early treatment is associated with a better prognosis. The disease becomes much more severe and difficult to treat later in its course. Most interventional pain management physicians are expert in this.

Most RSD : Patients take longer to diagnose. A lot of factors are involved such as the nature of injury, how was it treated etc. More info can help with better answer.
