I had a ct scan of my abdominal two weeks ago and it showed i had two swollen lymph nodes and my gi wants a ct scan agian. why could they be swollen?

The causes of: Enlarged lymph nodes are numerous, with infection and other forms of inflammation being the most likely. The purpose of the follow-up would be to be sure they are stable or getting smaller.

Don't know - depends: Hi lemur - just be careful about getting too many ct scans - the extra radiation may not be needed. Enlarged or swollen lymph nodes can be from multiple different things. Inflammation, infection, or cancer. If it's just two - it depends how big they are. Typically ct criteria for "enlargement' is over 1cm.
